Game of Thrones Season 3 Episode 1 Review and Plot- Valar Dohaeris

The episode commences with the White Walkers hitting the Night’s Watch Force and leave a very few little survivors. During a thunderous gale, Samwell Tarly is spiked by a Wight but fortunately saved by the direwolf ghost and Lord Commander Jeor Mormont. The Lord Commander reprehends Samwell for not sending any ravens to caution the survivors to head back to the wall as the army was coming with fervor.

Jon Snow who was now a captive of Ygritte and his wildlings, are dragged in the wilding camp to forgather with Mance Rayder. At the first instant Jon unknowingly thought Tormund Giantsbane as the King beyond the Wall, but Mance clarifies himself to Jon and inquires about Jon’s intention for betraying the Night’s Watch. Jon acquire Mance’s confirmation by narrating his antipathy after learning that Craster leaving his new born son to the White Walkers and that Lord Commander knew everything but did nothing, and now he made up his mind “to fight for the side that fights for the living”. Mance is convinced and admonishes Jon to get a new camouflage.

Newly knighted Ser Bronn returns to Tyrion Lannister’s aid, for a very higher price. Tyrion who has been blistered since the Battle of Blackwater has been fortified himself in a solitaire form the time his father Tywin emerged victorious against the tyrannical Stannis Baratheon’s forces. Tyrion’s sister Cersei sees Tyrion, and queries him about what is he going to say their father. When Tyrion meets his father Tywin who was the acting Hand of the King, Tywin hesitated agreeing Tyrion’s plea for recognition of his feat in Battle of Blackwaters. But when Tyrion pressured Tywin to crown him scion to Casterly Rock, the Lannister Ancestral Home, Tywin declined and depravedly abused Tyrion calling him a shame and a punishment he undergone and also very disgustingly entailing that he does not have faith in Tyrion to be appropriate. As Tyrion left, Tywin horrified to hang the next whore he finds in Tyrion’s bed.

Petyr Baelish meets Sansa Stark, who is still escorted by Shae. Petyr briefs Sansa that he is in agreement to take a role that would abolish him from the King’s Landing. He pitched to hideously smuggle her out if Sansa can keep the plan secret. Ros is meticulous to tell Shae to keep a watch on Sansa’s well-being especially when dealing with Lord Baelish.

King Joffrey Baratheon and his affianced Lady Margaery Tyrell is wandering through Flea Bottom in a caravan, Margaery suddenly stopped and exits her litter and enters an orphanage to entertain and make the children comfortable. Joffrey was still hiding in his litter keeping the windows shut. At the time of dinner when Cersei, Margaery, and Loras Tyrell, Joffrey trades disrespects with his mother but at the same time Tyrell show a perfect unity and cooperation.

Davos Seaworth is left ashore on a rock in Blackwater Bay after his ship was devastated and ruined in the Battle of Blackwater. He is then carried by a ship of his old friend, the pirate Salladhor Saan. Davos remembers his son Matthos died in a very unfortunate manner. Salladhor tells that he is leaving Stannis Baratheon’s side due to the defeat and Salladhor knew that Stannis is unable to give him what Davos had promised. He also tells Davos that Stannis is in solitude at Dragonstone, and that Melisandre is horrifyingly turning people into ashes at his castle and she is the only one with whom Stannis will speak. Davos asks Salladhor to drop him with the intention of barring Melisandre, influencing Stannis by brutally killing her and Salladhor agrees despite being knowing that Davos will be dead soon.

Davos is admitted to rendezvous with Stannis and is horrified to invent that Stannis is totally different to his survival and strictly did not agreed to send Melisandre away. Melisandre blamed Davos for the lost battle because he convinced to leave her behind and due to this she was unable to use her magic to create an impact on the battle’s outcome. When she mentions about Matthos, Davos quickly lose his temper and steadily he tried to kill her but hopefully guards came to her rescue and Stannis asked him to throw in prison.

Robb Stark and his forces entered at Harrenhal where they found that Gregor Clegane left the place and brutally murdered all the prisoners. Lord Roose Bolton showed compassion and empathy towards the ill-fated and weeping Lord Rickard Karstarck who expresses his disappointment and annoyance that Catelyn Stark let Jaime Lannister go easily. Bolton gives the assurance to Karstarck that Catelyn will be found soon as he ordered his best hunters to catch Catelyn. But there was only one man who survived on which Robb stumbled and he was a man named Qyburn.

Daenerys Targaryen has entered in Astapor in Slaver’s Bay with her dragon’s who were growing excruciatingly fast. Deanery is thinking of buying an army of the renowned eunuch slave soldiers, called as the “Unsullied”. She and Ser Jorah Mormont have seen a dreadful and deadly example of their bravery and boldness but Daenerys is horrified by the terrific training they go through. When she was walking through a nearby market, a warlock with a mask of a young girl tried to kill Daenerys with a creature like scorpion. She was curbed by masked Ser Barristan Selmy, the previous Kingsguard to Daenerys’ father, who was loyal and adhered to her totally.

Peter Baelish tells Sansa that he can help her to flee from King’s Landing. Davos tries to kill Melisandre but fails. Daenerys arrives in Astapor, Slaver’s Bay.
