Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 8 Review and Plot- The Mountain and The Viper

Gilly in involved in a tense conversation with one of the commercial sex worker at Mole’s Town, which was immediately attacked by Styr, Tormund Giantsbane and his army. Gilly is noticed by Ygritte but she excuses her after seeing Gilly’s baby. The news of the attack reaches the Wall when Samwell starts regretting because he only sends Gilly to Mole’s Town. He starts considering that she and their baby are alive and safe. When Mance Rayder attacked the Wall, it was confirmed that the Night’s Watch is not going to win against the wild horde.

Ramsay Snow again practices the strategy with Reek, who will be disguising as his own, Theon Greyjoy. With riding a horse, Theon enters the Moat Cailin with a white flag. He is welcomed by Ralf Kenning. Theon tells them the conditions to surrender, which Kenning refused to agree but his own men murder him and agrees to accept the conditions. After Ironborn open the Moat’s entrance gates, Ramsay and his army enters there and assassinates everyone. As a reward of taking Moat, Lord Roose Bolton legalizes Ramsay as a true Bolton. Then the Boltons with Reek and their army starts marching towards new seat at Winterfell.

Missandei caught Grey Worm watching her while she was bathing. That time she covers herself but after sometime asks Daenerys to have strong desire to have a relationship with him. But unfortunately all the Unsullied are forcefully converted into eunuchs from a tender age so being in a relationship with him seems absurd. Speaking to Missandei after sometime, Grey Worm does not feel sorry about the way he is, because if he was not an Unsullied, he wouldn’t had met her.

After Lysa is murdered, Petyr Baelish is questioned by Lord Yohn Royce and few of the other nobles of Vale. Petyr tells them that Lysa attempted a suicide by jumping from the Moon Door, but they don’t have faith in him, after his brothels in the King’s Landing and his oversees blood. Royce asks to speak with Sansa who is behaving as Petyr’s niece, Alayne. Sansa appears to be nervous under the pressure of the situation, accepting her true identity to everyone, but she agrees to Petyr’s story and because of her innocent way of talking and nature they agree to it. When Petyr accepts that he lied to the Lords of the Vale, she tells him that she did not know that what they might have did with him on the charges of Lysa’s murder. She also tell him that she know what Petyr wants. Afterwards Petyr, Sansa and Robin leave for the Vale.

Concurrently, Sandor “The Hound” Clegane and Arya walk the confined path towards the Eyrie. While reaching to the Bloody Gate, they are told of Lady Arryn’s murder by Donnel Waynwood. Arya being in sadness of her aunt’s death breaks into crazy laughter.

Just before the trail of combat commences, Tyrion confabulate with his brother Jaime that do he have any chances of winning. When Tyrion is held outside, he has a small talk with his champion, Oberyn who is confident that he can kill Gregor. Gregor enters just after a small time, and so the trial starts. While the fight was going on, Oberyn asks the Mountain to accept that he only abused and assassinated his sister, Elia and her two kids. Suddenly he knocks down the Mountain and with his sword gives a very fatal-blow. Oberyn then howls at the Mountain in the hope that he will accept that Tywin gave him the orders to do so. And suddenly in a flash Mountain knocks Oberyn down and accepts that he only abused and murdered his sister, Elia and her two kids.

And at the same time crush his skull. The Mountain also collapses on the ground due to the fatal injuries given by Oberyn. And so Tywin sentence death to Tyrion for killing Joffrey, a person of royalty.

Missandei urges Daenerys to have a relationship with Grey Worm but she informs her that he is an Unsullied and it is impossible to have a relationship with him as every Unsullied is a eunuch. Petyr Baelish is questioned by high officials about the death of Lysa Arryn and he escapes through the questions as they seem convinced by the Sansa’s answers. The trial is won by Gregor killing Oberyn and Tyrion is sentenced to death by Tywin.
