Game of Thrones Season 3 Episode 8 Review & Plot- Second Sons

With just some time left for the wedding, Tyrion meets Sansa to ease her anxiety, her fear of marriage. Queen Cersei Lannister admonishes Margaery Tyrell in the Sept of Baelor with the tale of House Reyne, former Lannister beneficiary who her father Tywin had obliterated when he resisted towards their liege law. As Sansa arrives at the Sept, King Joffrey Baratheon accompanies her at the avenue. To insult Tyrion, Joffrey takes the stepstool with him which Tyrion is going to use to cloak Sansa with the Lannister’s attire. After some giggling from the crowd Sansa lowered down a bit and they married.

Game of Thrones Season 3 Episode 8 Summary (Synopsis)- Second Sons

Irritation began for both Sansa and Tywin when Tyrion gets very drunk in his own wedding feast. Tywin tries to tell Tyrion to stop drinking and starts coming closer to his wife. Joffrey trying to take the advantage of the situation threatens Sansa that he will rape her and asks to starts the bedding ceremony. But shockingly Joffrey’s intentions were ruined by Tyrion when he admonishes him that he will cut his private parts. Tywin very calmly handles the situation and Tyrion did not face any punishment making intoxication as an excuse. Tyrion leaves the feast with Sansa. As Tywin has ordered Tyrion to complete his marriage, he reveals Sansa that he will not share a single bed until she wants to sexually indulge with him. Sansa asks Tyrion that what if it never happened, he sarcastically tell her that he will not indulge in any sexual activity again.

Melisandre comes back to Dragonstone with Gendry. She wants him to meet King Stannis Baratheon, so they go and meet him. King Stannis acknowledges him as one of Robert’s Bastard. When Gendry is taken to her cubicle, Stannis and Melisandre starts discussing about what they want to do with him.

In the prison, Davos Seaworth tries very hard to read. Stannis rendezvous with him to discussthe strategy to sacrifice Gendry. Davos doesn’t seem impressed and so he doesn’t agree to it but Stannis has made his mind.He asks Davos to swear not to kill Melisandre and in reply he leaves him free.

After a short period of time, Melisandre meets Gendry and have a short altercation before anyone can imagine their discussion changes to sex. Melisandre who knew that there is “power” in Gendry’s noble blood, she binds Gendry’s hands and legs and lays three leeches to suck his blood. After some time Stannis arrives and with all the rituals burnt the leeches, taking the names of the autocrats to his throne: Robb Stark, Balon Greyjoy, and Joffrey Baratheon.

While Sandor “The Hound” Clegane is sleeping Arya tries to assassinate him, but she doesn’t knew that he was acting as he had slept but he is still awake and stops her to take his life. They leave their camp and starts heading towards the Twins, where Clegane tries to bribe Arya to her brother Robb.

Game of Thrones Season 3 Episode 8 Review & Plot- Second Sons

Ser Jorah Mormont informs Daenerys Targaryen that Yunkai has their own mercenary group called as the Second Sons and whose leader is Mero. Daenerys rendezvous with Mero, his co-captain Prendahl Na Ghezn and lieutenant Daario Naharis. She tries to ransom Mero to welsh on his deal with Yunkai and fight with her to free the 200,000 slaves and permits him 2 days to take his own decision. In the Second Son’s camp, the three leader’s strategies to assassinate Daenerys that night and by a random draw the third person deployed found to be Daario. And luckily one of them succeeds in sliding inside their camp.

After the dusk, Daario arrives at the camp guised as an Unsullied. He gets inside the tent and shows her and Missandei the detached heads of Prendahl and Mero, agreeing that they are affected by Daenerys and assassinated his superiors after hearing their strategy to kill her.  He then kneels and takes oath that both he and Second Son’s will be in her team for the cause.

Samwell Tarly and Gilly is still trying to reach the Wall. They freeze at an unused hut for the night and try to come to a conclusion for what should be their son’s name. When they shockingly hear cawing of crows nearby, Sam quickly get up and leaves the hut to see what is happening. After a very short time he is attacked by a White Walker who throws him aside very easily. The Walker tries to take their son from Gilly, but Sam kills the Walker easily with his dragonglass dagger coming from behind. To avoid more problems they flee from that hut as soon as possible.

The wedding goes well even after Joffrey tries to create obstacles by stealing the stepstool Tyrion is going to use at the time of wedding, but they still managed to get married. Stannis and Melisandre succeed in obtaining the noble blood of Gendry. Arya tries to kill Sandor but fails. Daenerys meet Mero, the leader of Second Sons which is a missionary group of people of Yunkai. Daario the co-captain of the Second Sons enters the camp of Unsullied and tells Daenerys that he and Second Sons will be on her side. Samwell Tarly and Gilly is attacked by a White Walker and try to abduct their son but luckily Sam kills the Walker with his dragonglass sword and manages to flee.
