About Ramsay Bolton

Ramsay Bolton is amongst the important characters of Game of Thrones. He is played by Iwan Rheon. He first came into limelight in Season 2 but never mentioned until “Mhysa”.

He is the bastard son of Roose Bolton. He used to call as Ramsay Snow but he has recently been authorized as Lord Bolton’s lawful son and so he has named as Ramsay Bolton.

Ramsay is aggressive and barbarous and very well fond of the ancient and old Bolton practice of executing. While at the War of the Five Kings, he at start is an ally of Robb Stark but the Ramsay assassinated Ironborn garrison, put the castle to the torch, and takes Theon captive. He gives immense physical and psychological torment, turning him into a broken pet called as “Reek”.

He now rules the Great House ruling the North with his family. Ramsay weds to Sansa just to have an ally with the House Stark. He abuses Sansa physically and later attacks Stannis Baratheon’s coming army. Bolton’s emerge victorious. Sansa and Theon succeed in escaping weakening Ramsay’s political position severely.

Biography of Ramsay Bolton

Ramsay is better known as “The Bastard of Bolton”. He is the bastard son of Roose Bolton. Roose nearly murdered Ramsay and his mother but left alive when he realized that the child is his own.

Ramsay is Roose’s only child alive after the demise of Domeric Bolton and the only scion to House Bolton. He stayed behind as castellan of the Dreadfort when his father leaves to fight in the War of the Five Kings.

Ramsay keeps some dogs for hunting. He is in a relationship with Myranda, the kennelmaster’s daughter.

Ramsay Bolton in Season 2

When Winterfell is captured by Theon Greyjoy for the Ironborn, Ramsay is remitted by Roose Bolton to get it back. Ramsay’s army recaptures the castle and he annoys Theon by blowing a horn whole night. The next morning, Theon is betrayed by his own men, who accept Robb Stark’s offer of mercy for the Ironborn garrison if they gave him Theon. The castle is barred by Ramsay and instead of leaving them, he executes them all.

After the Sack of Winterfell, Ramsay and his men take Theon to Dreadfort where he is subjected to immense torture. Ramsay poses as an Ironborn delegate of Yara, Theon’s sister and maliciously claims to have been sent by Yara to free him.

Ramsay Snow sends a fake report to Harrenhal, where the chief force of the Northern army has established of the capturing of the Winterfell by the Ironborn about the unknown spot of Theon Greyjoy and disappearance of Rickon and Bran Stark.

Afterwards in the evening Ramsay comes back, and frees Theon, gives him a horse and asks him to go Deepwood Motte, where Yara is waiting for him. Theon’s captors eventually siege him again. As an amercement, the leaders try to rape Theon but Ramsay appears from nowhere and kills the abductors with bow and arrow, creating a bond of trust.

Afterward Ramsay assures Theon to accompany him to Deepwood Motte, they reach a holdfast. Theon queries why are they sneaking inside, Ramsay admonish him that some of his men belong to Balon Greyjoy.  When he tries opening a locked gate, Theon agrees to his sins. After the gate is opened Theon and Ramsay enters a dark room, the young guy lights the torch and Theon is horrified after notifying that he is at the same chamber again. Ramsay kicks Theon and again is refastened to rack.

Theon woke up because of the loud hooting of Ramsay’s horn. He tells Theon that he will remove his pinky finger if he cannot guess correctly Ramsay’s real identity and their actual location. Ramsay says that he is correct about Ramsay’s identity but he also says that he never asked him that is he a liar and began slaying Theon’s finger while he screams in horror and agony.

Theon is then freed from his binds by two young girls, Myranda and Violet. They give him water and clean his bloodied wounds. They disrobe him and start pleasuring him but they are soon interrupted by Ramsay, who enters the chamber with a weird knife. After barbing Theon about his sexual prowess, he asks his men to restrain Theon and removes Theon’s genitals.

Ramsay accepts that the buzz about Theon was true and he seriously have a good sized penis motioning towards the blood stained and badly sewn britches and trying to make him believe that the sausage he is eating is nothing but Theon’s body part. When Theon pleads him to murder him, Ramsay tells that he is not going to kill him. Ramsay gives him a name and berates him until he doesn’t call out himself as “Reek”.

Ramsay sends a letter to Balon Greyjoy with a small box containing Theon’s body part. He terrifies to send more of Theon’s body organs and execute every Ironborn in the North if they do not leave before the full moon.

Ramsay frees Theon from his binds but forces him to be his servant. After sometime, Ramsay hunts Tansy in the woods accompanied by Reek, Myranda and hounds. Ramsay tells that Tansy had Myranda jealous so she had to die as she has caused enough problems. Myranda shoots at her leg and Ramsay leaves his dogs on her and finally she dies. After sometime, Roose Bolton enters the Dreadfort where Ramsay is seemed waiting for him. Roose introduces him to Walda Bolton, his new wife and asks to see his prisoner. Ramsay greets Locke and congrats him for bruising Jaime Lannister. Locke gives him assurance that the Kingslayer had screamed loud enough in agony and Ramsay would have definitely enjoyed it. Ramsay brings “Reek” to Roose, who is angry at Ramsay at tormenting a valuable hostage. Roose also tells him that he wanted to exchange him to rid the North of Iron Islanders and needed unharmed. Roose punishes him for his actions but Ramsay wants to prove his torment has some purpose. He asks Reek to shave him telling Roose that he can never betray him. He also tells Roose that he had not killed Bran and Rickon Stark. Theon tells them that they are now at the Wall with Jon Snow.

Finding it informative, Roose asks Locke to track down both the Stark boys and Ramsay asks him to assassinate Jon Snow as well. Roose asks Ramsay to take Moat Cailin, from the Greyjoy’s army and assures him that if he succeeds he will think about Ramsay’s position.

Ramsay physically indulges himself with Myranda but a bit violently. Yara Greyjoy tries to rescue Theon from Ramsay. Moat Cailin is taken and Ramsay and Roose rendezvous on an open field. Roose legitimize him by giving a document and grant him the right to call himself a “Bolton”. Ramsay happily starts travelling towards Winterfell.

While eating with Roose, Ramsay tells that he has managed to convince House Cerwyn to pay their taxes by assassinating Lord Medger Cerwyn, his wife and brother and forcing his son to pay the taxes. Roose reprimands Ramsay for his behavior. Roose then tells that he had arranger Ramsay to wed Sansa Stark to mollify the Northerners. When Sansa arrives, Ramsay politely greets her. Petyr Baelish speaks with Ramsay, who assures him that he will never harm Sansa when Baelish admonish him. He expresses his gratitude towards Baelish for finding him a suitable match.

Afterwards, Myranda tells about her jealousy for Sansa as Ramsay has promised to wed her. Ramsay very coldly agrees his attraction towards Sansa and tells her that she is beautiful. Ramsay goes near Myranda when she tells him that she will marry someone else. Ramsay later accosts Reek and admonishes him not to keep anything hidden from him. Though it seems like he will punish Reek but forgives him.

At the dinner, Ramsay feels happy about his wedding to Sansa but things turn bitter when he brings Reek into the room and forces him to apologize for assassinating Bran and Rickon Stark. Roose bars his son’s behavior by declaring that Walda is pregnant with a boy. After the dinner, Ramsay expresses his anger as Roose and Walda’s child might be a threat for Ramsay as the child might sit on the throne after Roose.  He then tells Ramsay about how he met his mother and how he was born. When Ramsay’s mother left him infant in Dreadfort, he was going to throw him in the sea but he resisted himself and didn’t killed him because he knew that Ramsay is his true son. Roose then informs him that Stannis Baratheon is in Castle Black and will try to take Winterfell from them and so Ramsay assures him to aid against Stannis.

Afterwards, Theon comes to take Sansa for the wedding, she does not agree to hold Theon’s arm, even after pleading, she does not agree. Reek then gives Sansa to Ramsay and they marry in front of the Godswood. After taking her to the bedroom, Ramsay asks Reek to stay. He tells him that he has watched her grow as a girl and now watch her being a woman. Sansa starts sobbing when Ramsay starts raping her. Reek is seemed disturbed and starts crying as Ramsay accomplish their wedding.

Over the following days, Ramsay continues to abuse and berate Sansa every night. Reek informs Ramsay about her plan of escaping. Ramsay forces Sansa to see the dead body of the elder maid who informed her about Brienne. He also tells her that once becomes the Warden of North, she will be his Wardeness. Ramsay becomes angry when Sansa calls him a bastard of Roose and tells her that even bastards can rise just like Jon Snow, her bastard half-brother. He then asks Sansa to go back to her chambers.

As Stannis reaches near Winterfell, Ramsay holds a meeting on countering him. While Roose insists on waiting out the siege inside Winterfell and let Stannis and his men die out in the chilling weather, Ramsay asks his twenty best men to fight Stannis in the open.

Ramsay takes his men into Stannis’s camp and blazes some his tents and manages to flee back to Winterfell even without spotting.

But Stannis remains courageous but now his army is very hugely reduced, he leads to capture Winterfell. Ramsay leads the Boltons and assassinates a huge number of Stannis’ men sustaining only minor cuts to the face. In between, Ramsay assassinates a half dead man who claims of surrendering himself. After defeating Stannis, he starts riding back to Winterfell uttering that his wife must be lonely having no idea that Sansa and Theon escaped from the castle assassinating Myranda.
